Definition Of Bessemer Process:

Older steel manufacturing method in which air is blown into a furnace at about 1250°C to burn off impurities and convert pig iron produced by a blast furnace.
Named after its inventor, the UK engineer Sir Henry Bessemer (1813-98), it is the forerunner of the modern basic-oxygen process.
