Definition Of Perfluorocarbon (pfc):

Chemical byproduct of aluminum smelting and semiconductor manufacturing, it consists of one or two carbon atoms combined with four to six fluorine atoms but no chlorine.
PFCs persist for over a century in the atmosphere and their global warming potential is among the highest of all substances.
